Reading

We start each day doing Reading CAFE. This program is designed to help students become better, more confident, independent readers by focusing on a number of areas. CAFE is an acronym for these areas- Comprehension, Accuracy, Fluency, and Expand vocabulary. Each day the students will either Read to Self, Read to Someone, or Listen to Reading and focus on one of the CAFE areas they need to in order to develop their reading skills. There are many posters up in the room about our Reading CAFE (photos of them are below this post), you are welcome to come in and have a look at them or ask me questions about it.

Here are some links to eReaders (on-line stories). Each link has a selection of stories to choose from. When you select a book, most, read it to you so you can listen to the story while following along with the words. Click on the image you want to visit.
