Please remember to request to join the 8E group on the Skoolbag app. On the app I will put information regarding information I feel is important for all families in 8E to be aware of. If you need some help with the Skoolbag app you can visit the Front Office for assistance.

Welcome to 2019!

Welcome to 2019! I hope you and your child/ren had a relaxing, fun and safe break. From the handouts sent home, with your child, on the first day of school you will read that DayMap, Skoolbag and this blog are my main modes of sharing our learning as well as what is happening in the class/ school with families and our learning community. Because of this, please take your time to look through and familiarise yourself with this blog.

The blog will be updated at least once a week with information regarding what we have been doing in the class, spelling lists as well as important dates and events happening at school. We love to read positive comments left by people visiting the blog, but remember to follow the blogging guidelines.  You can find the blogging guidelines on the page called “Blog Guidelines” located at the top of this page.

Along the top of the screen, under the title ‘Mrs Fisher’s Class‘, are headings- ‘Blog guidelines‘, ‘Inquiry Unit’, Numeracy, Reading, and Spelling. If you click on them they will take you to that page which has information regarding what we are currently doing in the class on that topic. The ‘Spelling‘ page is updated weekly with the student’s spelling words for the week. This allows families to be aware of the sound as well as words being taught each week and, if they wish, it enables them to work on those words with their child at home. If you look in the ‘Inquiry Unit‘ page you will notice it explains what Inquiry Unit we will be exploring for the term and there is already a link to this terms Sharing topics (this is also in your child’s Communication Book along with the day they are required to do Sharing).

If you look on the right hand side of the page you will also see there is an Email subscription box. If you type your email in the box you will receive an email every time I have added a post to the main page of the blog. This will save you time, as you will know when to check the blog for something new just by viewing your emails. However, you will not get an email when I have placed information on the pages, such as the ‘Spelling’ page.

I am really looking forward to working with you to ‘stretch’ your child’s thinking and help them grow this year.
