Nature Play SA Incursion

Posted on

On Tuesday, 19th March, Nature Play SA came to our school to do an Incursion with our class. The students got to play with a range of things from nature.

First they constructed things with small chunks of wood rounds. They were challenged to see who could build the tallest tower. Then the students made small tee pees using 3 short sticks. After that each student was given a piece of clay and they could use it to place different natural things in it, such as flowers, seed pods etc, to create a piece of art. Finally the students made a seed ball, which they were able to take home.

The students had a great time using their imagination, creativity and problem solving skills to play in nature.

Week 7

Posted on

Don’t forget next week, Week 7, is a short week. Monday is a public holiday and Tuesday is a pupil free day. If your child has their Sharing on either of these days they will need to do their Sharing on one of the other school days. Those students can choose which day they do their Sharing, either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

Swimming

Posted on

Don’t forget next week is Swimming week. To make it easier for the students can you please send them to school wearing sandals/ thongs and dress them in their bathers with either a dressing gown, or casual clothes over the top. This way they are all ready to go down to the pool.

When they get out of the pool they can quickly dry themselves off and place the dressing gown/ casual clothes back on over the top of their bathers. Students ARE NOT allowed to change out of their bathers at the swimming centre. When we return to school students will be able to change into dry clothes.

Can students please bring an extra small bag to school for their towel and goggles. In their school bag can you please pack their change of clothes which they can put on when we return to school.

Please ensure your child’s name is on every item of clothing, goggles, towel, etc.

Due to the time we will be leaving and returning from swimming, we will eat lunch before we leave and eat recess when we return.
